Date Night!

Wait.  Did I just title this what I think I titled this?

That's right baby!  DATE NIGHT!!

Do you realize how exceptionally RARE this is?

Obviously I don't need to spell it out for you, but just for the sake of the fact that I can do what I want, I shall:

4 kids + babysitter + night out = mucho moola.

And it probably goes without saying that when you have 4 kids, there is no such thing as mucho moola.

Not to mention the fact that finding a babysitter willing and able to watch 4 kids is, um, a challenge.  Even for perfectly angelic children such as mine (ahem).  I have a circle of lovely mommy friends who are fantastic at watching the princesses if I need them.  We try to reciprocate whenever possible and it's a win-win for all.  But usually these services are called upon for essential errands, ie.  Dr. appointments, having a baby, etc.  You know.  Essential.  It doesn't feel right to ask my friends (who are no doubt as tired as myself) to give up their evenings and watch my brood so I can have a night out with the hubs (yes, I realize that mamas need to do this more often, that dating your hubby is important for the strength of a marriage, yada yada, but really, it's HARD to ask a friend to watch my four kids so I can go have fun.).

But tonight, the stars have aligned.

Princesses #1-#3 are spending a few days with their grandparents.  Ah, how nice of them.

That means only one princess in the house.

ONE.

An opportunity too good to resist.  Particularly with a certain movie of the vampire persuasion now in theaters  (Now, don't go hatin' on me.  I don't care what anyone says.  Embrace your inner 17 year old, you know you want to).

So.  Enter one highly qualified teenage babysitter and we've got 4 hours of date night at our disposal.  Ah, almost feels like old times.  Almost.  Except back then I didn't have to squeeze my shower in during the baby's nap.  Or find something to feed her before walking out the door.  Or throw that last load of laundry in the dryer, lest it smell terrible by the time we got home.  But, you know, almost.  I did manage to get makeup on today, so we'll consider it a win.
