Dear Princess #4,
I know this 2 thing is sort of new to you.
I have to say though, that you can't entirely play innocent.
I mean, you've got 3 older sisters who have been more than happy to show you how to act.
Maybe that's part of the problem.
You see, the constant screaming when you don't get your way isn't working for me.
The outright defiant refusal to come to me when I need to change your diaper is annoying.
(not to mention stinky)
The insistence that I let you do EVERYTHING is getting old.
You don't let me cuddle you anymore when I rock you to sleep.
You prefer to sit next to me in the chair, your little legs barely long enough to stick out over the edge.
You fight with me for control of the toothbrush,
(a fight you will not win by the way - mommy is not paying for fillings for baby teeth!)
You incessantly demand, "Mommy, 'mere!" (Mommy, come here!) and "Ho-dew!" (Hold you!)
and you usually do not care if I'm in the middle of something (ahem).
All I have to say is,
it's a good thing you're cute.

My friends, do you have a 2 year old who is oh so very 2? What is the best and worst of being 2?

My youngest of four turns 20 months tomorrow, and this sounds like I wrote it about her! Every last bit of it.
ReplyDeleteI did get around the diaper part by picking up some pullups. She is starting to potty train, and I think she just wants to wear what everyone else does.
I'm looking foward to her talking fully. She doesn't say much yet, and it can be so hard to tell what she wants.
My 2 year old is VERY 2. She has been in speech therapy and is just finding her words so she says them over and over again, growing louder and LOUDER! Potty training is in the works but she also runs away when I need to change her! I understand!!! And we are all in this together!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a 2 year old yet... but my 16 month old sure acts like one! We are in the middle of tantrums right now. So super fun! Thank you SO much for the follow! I'm following you now as well!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh she is adorable! love her side pigtails and her cute cheeks!! The terrible twos are still ahead for me. lol
ReplyDeleteAwww! Following you from the hop!
ReplyDeleteThat is some serious cuteness going on there! I don't have a 2 year old that is being 2, but I sure have a 3 year old who is being very 3 right now. My sympathies are with you!!! :) And I think that is why God made them so dang cute, to help us get through those challenges!!!
ReplyDeleteBetween you and me, I think the 3's are worse than the 2's!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post. Sadly my youngest is now 5 and she is independent at times I wish she wasn't and needy at times I wish she was independent. But over all she is a strong willed little girl and that is something I LOVE about her!
ReplyDeleteWhew, do I ever have a two-year-old. Last weeks escapades? Taking bright pink nail polish to our leather chair. The week before she carved a "picture" into my car with a rock.
ReplyDeleteThe best part? She still lets me snuggle her for as long as I want.
She'll be two next month and it could have been me writing your words. The toothbrush thing especially. Great read!
