And while I'm on the subject, hubby and I realized that by the time we're all said and done, we will have been changing diapers non-stop for a decade. A DECADE. 10 whole years people. 120 months. 3,650 days (plus 1 or so with leap year). I don't even want to begin to think about the size of landfill we alone have created. Blech. If I had known I was going to have 4 kids, I might have more seriously considered cloth diapering. Talk about leaving behind a huge footprint! You better believe we'll be doing the happy dance when Princess #4 crosses over to the potty side!

For each of my kids, the only way we really moved to the potty was to look at the diapers we had and say, "That's it." It worked for Ella. When we ran out last month, I told Clif not to buy any more and here we are now with no kids in diapers. It has been almost 15 years since we started diapering, so it's a big deal.
ReplyDeleteI had to completely get rid of the diapers for my first and third daughters. Kylie wet her panties once and it really freaked her out so she started using the potty after that. Sophie was a bit harder because she didn't care if she was wet or dry. She finally got in gear when she saw her younger cousin going to the potty.
ReplyDeleteYep, the "we're all out of diapers" trick worked well with Ava, too! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteShe is only in size 4 diapers?
